Need to find a taxi? Those Data Mining Geniuses @ Google have done it again.

Find a t a x i and track it!

And now for something Completely Different

I'm starting to put Import phones up on the Googlepages site... And no, I don't own Google Stock (though I'll take donations), nor do I work for 'em.

P H O N E B U D D Y . TV

Those crazy guys over at Sudjam have done it again!

First there was Shoutphone, but now there is Phone Buddy--Put in your phone number & your buddy's, choose your avatar and HAVE FUN!

This is a great proof of concept site that demonstrates the power of phone/internet convergence.

Better than the iPhone?

Thanks to the guys over at Adrants for the link!

Introducing the next in iDEAS...

As much as I love Apple, I always love a good poke when I see one!

Want Visual Voicemail w/o the iPhone?

Got Voice looks to be one of the solutions out there. They're advertising on Myspace for a voicemail-music "mash".

I haven't used the service myself yet... But it looks promising.

Anyone heard about them? Pros/Cons? Reply to this post or email me!

iPhone w/o Phone

Thanks To 2M for the heads-up.

http://nanocr.eu/2007/07/03/iphone-without-att/

From: Jon Lech Johansen's blog

I've found a way to activate a brand new unactivated iPhone without giving any of your money or personal information to AT&T NSA. The iPhone does not have phone capability, but the iPod and WiFi work. Stay tuned!

Update:

Magic iTunes 7.3.0.54 numbers:

Offset 2048912: 33C0C3

Offset 257074: 28

Offset 257013: 33C9B1

Add "127.0.0.1 albert.apple.com" to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Download Phone Activation Server v1.0 to activate your iPhone for iPod+WiFi use. Note that this application will not do anything unless you understand the magic numbers as well as add the hosts entry. Phone Activation Server (PAS) requires that you have the MS .NET Framework 2.0 installed.

Download PAS v1.0 Source Code.

God love Google! And Jott, Too :-)

Dial from any phone
1-800-GOOG-411
(1-800-466-4411)

http://labs.google.com/goog411/

I mean, I love TeXT messaging to Google (text "GOOGL" [46645] in the address and help in the subject for more), but now with VOICE!!!

The machine never stops!

And lest we forget Jott, A very cool service that transcribes your voice into a email or text messages. You can even have group lists, so you say your idea into your phone once, and everyone on your list gets the message. Now let's say that your voice didn't transcribe all too well... no worries, you can listen to the actual voice file (e-mail only at this time).

I love it!

It looks like the race has started to get the iPhone available for the unwashed masses... I bet there'll be plenty of sleepless nights all around the world trying to chew through this baby.

Interesting to watch. And keep us in the loop!

The Most Interesting (i)Phone in the world.
